Society for American Baseball Research

In 2013, I won the British Baseball Writing Award as the top performing journalist in that genre throughout the United Kingdom. My award-winning entry, reminiscing about playing baseball on a Wirral council estate as a kid, pretending to be Manny Ramirez, was published in This Diamond Isle, a journal endorsed by the Society for American Baseball Research.

SABR is an illustrious think tank devoted to the discovery, maintenance and dissemination of baseball knowledge. Prominent members include Bill James, the game's premier statistician, and Rob Neyer, a renowned reporter. The influence of SABR dogma throughout baseball has been immortalised in books such as Moneyball, and it was a privilege to see my writing feature under such a prestigious banner.
